Organisational Structure
The Research Institute of Fruit Growing in Plovdiv is the main research unit in this field in Bulgaria. It accomplishes research activities of strategic theoretical and applied character for economical efficient, sustainable, and integrated fruit production. It is structured in two departments: 1. Breeding, Genetic Resources, and Biotechnology, and 2. Fruit Growing Technologies, Economics and Marketing. The Institute accomplishes also extension service activities, and teaching and training of fruit growers.
