Organisational Structure
The Resource Management unit is based in three different communities: Jokioinen, Juva and Mikkeli. The unit has been divided into teams on the basis of the specialised knowledge of the team members. The core teams work together on projects both for the MTT and its interest groups.

Research Programs
The research carried out at the Resource Management unit focuses on environmental problems, the development of the rural environment and specialised ecological production. The research covers a large multi-disciplinary area and includes soil, air, production ecology and landscape-related and social questions. Research into the environmental impact of animal production is becoming increasingly important.
The main guidelines for the research activity are the natural resource strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the contracts, which define the objectives of sustainable development, sustainable use of natural resources, biodiversity, and ecological production.
