Mexico is characterised by a great variety in climate including areas with hot humid, temperate humid and arid climates.
Mexico is located between the latitudes 32°43' N and 14°32' S.
It has an area of almost 2 million km2. There are about 24 million ha of arable land.
The climate allows the cultivation of a very wide range of crops of temperate, subtropical and tropical origin.
The main research thrust is the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
