Organisational Structure
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation is the federal executive power body in charge of state governing and coordination in agriculture, food and processing industry. Together with the authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, local self-governing authorities with involvement of the interested federal executive power bodies the RF Ministry of Agriculture and Food ensures the unity of the state governing of the agro-industrial complex.
The main objectives of the Ministry are the following:
- to develop and implement the state policy of regulation of agriculture, processing, inputs production, social and production infrastructure development;
- to form market relations and to develop entrepreneurship based on agricultural cooperation, agro-industrial integration and establishment of food wholesale markets;
- to conduct agrarian and land reforms;
- to develop proposals on creation of institutional, economic, financial and legal framework for agriculture, food and processing industry of public, collective, cooperative, joint-stock, private farming and small-scale sectors;
- to promote integration of research, education and production, staff training, technological equipment of agricultural production, food and processing enterprises;
- to develop and to implement environmental and natural resources conservation measures in agriculture, food and processing industry.
