Horticulture Research International
Most of the country is dry (less than 100 mm rain per year). Summer is hot with temperature average exceeding 45 °C. Winter is cooler (and often cold) with average temperature ranging from 14 to 23 °C.
The country occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula.
Most of the vegetable crops are grown in the country both in the open field and in greenhouses. Date palm is the leading fruit tree. Figs, grapes and peaches are also grown. Ornamental plants and flowers are promising crops.
