Organisational Structure
The Central Office of SAC is in Edinburgh. In addition, SAC has main sites in Edinburgh (2 sites), Auchincruive, and Aberdeen, as well as 8 farms and 24 area offices. It's research is organised into three Divisions (Plant Science, Crop, and Environment) with five Departments (Centre for Horticulture, Biotechnology, Crop Biology, Agronomy. and Land Management).

Research Programs
All aspects of agriculture, including horticulture, plus biological, physical and social science R&D; education and advice to growers. The main commodities investigated are vegetables, soft fruit, hardy ornamental nursery stock, protected crops, landscape and growing media.
